It’s been about a month since I was at your place and a lot has happened. And since Tomáš reassured me that everything is just as it should be, that’s how I see it too. I probably annoy the people around me with that sometimes, but I don’t really give a damn :o)
When almost a year ago I put my name down in the calendar for November, I told myself it was an eternity until I’d get to my dark retreat, so in the meantime I hunted around for another option, sooner than yours, and I found one. It was somewhere in Moravia, but already in July, so I started celebrating that it was just around the corner (it was February :o)).
But then, at the last minute, I gave my darkness therapy slot to my best friend, who needed it more and needed it right away.
Everything is as it should be
And like I said, everything is just as it should be, and I made it to November.
Arrival was easy, I came after a demanding weekend in the Šumava, where I’d been doing holotropic breathwork.. (which I can also recommend), so I crashed pretty quickly and slept. On the first day I felt like I couldn’t stop the voice in my head, which I almost never manage anyway :o) so I set about exercising and playing the guitar and getting to know the cabin, to satisfy that rational part of me.
When’s the spiritual stuff going to show up?
I had the impression that the spiritual part would come next, but that voice was still there being a pain :o) … no, not really, but I was probably, as they say in sport, overmotivated, and expected to be flying round the astral planes all week.
None of that happened, I just had more time to observe my emotions and remember experiences, both pleasant and negative. Which stirred those emotions up in me pretty strongly, probably a good deal more strongly than in the light, in the Matrix.
A dark retreat on my birthday
I devoted one part of the retreat to planning, which so far has stayed just that. I came out of the dark into my 35th birthday and didn’t enjoy it much, cos I got home like a whipped dog. I hardly slept at all the whole last night, because during the week my rhythm had flipped and I’d been resting a lot during the day. So my family, who were expecting a well-rested young lad who’d been lazing about for a week, were a bit taken aback, but even so it was a beautiful reunion.
Tomáš’s welcome in the morning was great. “Welcome to the light” and a hug. A really lovely feeling. A gorgeous sunrise and then a cuppa in the very pleasant company of your family.
The conversations with the dark retreat guides helped me a lot, and given that I was fasting there, my dark retreat was about waiting for our talks, preparing questions and mulling over the answers.
I wish everyone lots of joy, and a juicy bone for every doggy :o)
Jakub
