A private dark retreat: our darkness therapy calendar no longer shows names

Dark retreat calendar with participants' names crossed out

If you’ve ever looked at our darkness therapy calendar, you may have noticed that booked days used to show the names of the people who were on a dark retreat at the time. They’re not there any more. The calendar now shows only what matters: whether a day is free or booked.

What has changed in the darkness therapy calendar

  • Red square – booked. Someone is in the dark.
  • Green square – free. Click a free day and you’ll go straight to booking your dark retreat.

On a day when one participant leaves and the next one can arrive, the square is half red and half green. You won’t find a name, initials or a nickname in the calendar any more.

Why a dark retreat is a private matter

A dark retreat is a personal experience. People come to us when they need to switch off, sort out their thoughts or take a break from something. Not everyone wants their neighbour, a colleague or anyone who opens our website to know about it.

And there’s one more reason. Recently, people you know from the media have started coming to us for darkness therapy too. For them, peace and anonymity matter even more than for others. A name in the calendar would reveal exactly where and when they’ll be – and that’s information that doesn’t belong on a public website.

Safety and anonymity in darkness therapy mean everything to us

In the dark, people open up and let go of things they otherwise keep under control. That only happens when they feel safe – when they know nobody will disturb them and nobody knows more about them than necessary. That’s why we follow a simple rule: what doesn’t need to be public won’t be.

This applies to everyone equally. Whether you’re coming for your first one-night dark retreat or returning for a whole week, your name stays between you and us.

How to book a dark retreat now

Finding free dates is as easy as before. Have a look at the darkness therapy calendar or the next available dates for a dark retreat, pick a green day and book it.
