Sometimes there comes a moment when silence starts calling us. One of the sisters had done a dark retreat before – a week in complete darkness had been a powerful experience for her. When she decided to go again, this time for three days, she offered the chance to her sister as well. And her sister said yes. They agreed on the same dates, each went into her own cabin, but from the start they knew they could support each other through it.
🕯️ Each in her own darkness, each with her own theme
One felt the need to slow down, take a breath and step out of the daily treadmill for a while. The other sensed that she needed to be alone for a while – without distractions, without words, just being and listening to herself. Silence and darkness became a safe space for both of them, where they didn’t have to do anything. Just be. And that is exactly why they could hear what gets lost in the everyday world.
🌌 Darkness therapy as a space for coming back to yourself
Each of them went through a different journey. A different rhythm, different thoughts, different inner images. And yet – as soon as they came out, they could tell each other about it. With laughter, with understanding, with calm. There was something deeply human about it – two people who had each been silent on their own met again in words that were no longer superficial.
💞 Darkness that brought light between them
A dark retreat is always an individual experience. But knowing that someone close to you is going through a similar journey, even in their own cabin, can be a quiet source of support. And that is exactly what the sisters experienced. Sharing after they came out was no longer about searching for words but about understanding each other. As if each of them had found something for herself – and at the same time for their relationship.
