I won’t describe the dark retreat itself, that’s a matter of each person’s own experience – and it’s an experience I can warmly recommend.
A dark retreat isn’t boring
There’s definitely no need to worry that time will drag and you’ll be bored stiff. It isn’t like that, in the dark the body works in a different mode.
What I’d really like to highlight are the people who run the centre, Lenka and Tomáš. Everything is genuinely done properly, and the place for the dark retreat is thought through down to every detail so that you feel comfortable there and have everything you need taken care of. They make sure the darkness really is absolute (not a single photon 🙂 , that the soundproofing is good and that the climate in the room stays right. Great work, and you can really see it’s created by people who do it with enthusiasm, have the experience themselves and know what’s needed 🙂
A dark retreat for “city folk” too
At first glance the way the centre presents itself might seem overly “esoteric”, which might make some people wonder what on earth awaits them there. Don’t worry, everything is great even for city folk. The food comes in three courses 🙂 (soup, a main course and even dessert).
You won’t be munching on shoots and sprouts for a week :).
Even though the food is vegetarian, it’s wonderfully tasty – I’d describe it as “just like grandma makes”, in a veggie version.
All in all, if you want to go on a dark retreat, come here, I recommend it.
