Definitions:
Personal data means any information relating to an identified or identifiable data subject.
An identifiable natural person is one who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier (a name, a number, an online identifier) or to one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity of that natural person.
General personal data includes name, gender, age and date of birth, marital status, but also IP address and photographic records. Since the GDPR also applies to self-employed natural persons, we also count so-called organisational data as personal data, such as an e-mail address, a telephone number or various identification numbers issued by the state.
Personal data also includes special categories of personal data – so-called sensitive data.
How we handle your personal data for a dark retreat:
Since we want to run dark retreats rather than deal with administrative work that doesn’t need doing, we have decided not to collect personal data at all.
Where it is necessary for a contractual relationship, you give us – on paper or electronically – only your name, address, e-mail address and, if applicable, telephone number.
If you also visit this website, we learn your public IP address, which is anonymised and used for statistical purposes only.
In the calendar we show only your first name and the first letter of your surname, and if you would rather not share even that, write to tell us that your name is something else, e.g. Jarmil Vomáčka, and we will list the date in the calendar for Jarmil V.
Car sharing to a dark retreat
Every participant in a
dark retreat can help the environment by sharing a lift with other participants arriving on the same date. If you wish, you can give these fellow travellers your e-mail address and then make arrangements among yourselves.

Security of personal data:
Where it is strictly necessary for your dark retreat to take place and you give us any personal data (name, address, e-mail, telephone), we never pass on your e-mail address, your home address or any other data that could directly identify you to anyone. Likewise, we keep your telephone number only for emergencies and never give it to anyone.
Registration data is stored on our own server and secured by encryption and technology to the highest possible standard in line with ISO 27001.
Our electronic communication by e-mail is kept in the history on our mail server hosted by Google.
Participants’ experiences after a dark retreat:
We publish only those participants’ experiences for which we have explicit consent. Some are, and others may be, published with altered dates or names to preserve full privacy.
This is how we have handled personal data since our dark retreat centre near Kutná Hora was founded in 2013, but the authorities asked us to write it down.
So hopefully we’ve got it right here 🙂
