I stepped into the unknown

I stepped into the unknown

We’d like to invite you to look inside one of our guests, who decided to explore the depths of his soul through silence and stillness. Every journey that darkness therapy offers is completely unique, and it brings answers to questions we often don’t even get round to asking in the everyday rush. This story takes you from his initial uncertainty all the way to profound visions that transform how he sees the world around him and bring colour back into everyday life.

First steps and finding my way in the unknown

My dark retreat began on Saturday afternoon. First I had to take in the whole cabin properly and feel my way around it, so I’d get my bearings and know where everything was. Once I felt sure, I switched off the light and started meditating. On Saturday I still ate some of my own food, then I fell asleep and let everything flow. At the beginning boredom set in too. You’re disoriented, you don’t know whether it’s day or night, but I simply accepted it as it was. In the end the time went by fine, because a lot depends on how you set it up in your mind.

Sunday’s dive into the depths of the subconscious

Sunday became a real period of darkness for me. My subconscious started rising to the surface, mainly my deep-rooted patterns and emotions. I have to say it was sort of unpleasantly pleasant. Everything surfaced gradually, so I could process it calmly, even though the day as a whole felt pretty unpleasant. But I believe you have to go through that to be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I went there intending to step into the unknown and out of my comfort zone, to clear my head so that I could shape my life in my own image. That came true.

A golden gate and unexpected encounters

I managed to glimpse the real light on Monday after lunch. While I was meditating in a kind of half-sleep, I saw various patterns and energies running around. Suddenly, above my left eyebrow, I clearly saw a shining gate, a beautiful golden tunnel. I turned my head slightly so I could see that splendour with both eyes. The colour was amazing. At that moment a tiny, sweet little creature flew in, something between a bird and an angel. It settled on my right-hand side, and suddenly a shadow appeared which for a moment reminded me of Jesus Christ. Then the shadow vanished, the little bird flew away and the gate disappeared. It only lasted a few seconds, but it was absolutely mind-blowing. I just stared, barely breathing, in a pleasant state of shock.

Living with perspective and high vibrations

Since that experience I feel relaxed and calm. Now I see nature as much more colourful, vivid and alive. During the retreat I listened a lot to the audio recording of The Four Agreements, and now I want to live by them. I want to see things with perspective, not fret over things needlessly and not let anything weigh me down. My goal is to live consciously and have a life full of gratitude, love, humility and abundance. I enjoyed the food here too; it had interesting oriental flavours. Darkness therapy allowed me to get to know myself more deeply, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to find themselves and live a contented life. I’d certainly do it again after a while, because if you accept it consciously, you can handle it just fine without panic or depression.
